- The Coalition Letter in Opposition to ARFF Standards (below) identifies some of the people and organizations you can thank for shooting down adoption of the national consensus (NFPA 403) ARFF standards at America's airports by the FAA. Coalition Letter in Opposition to ARFF Standards H.R. 658 has been approved by the House and the Senate and is now awaiting a signature from the President. Here is the link to the bill's status.. Congress has accepted the subjective misinformation skewed in the ACRP 7 & ACRP 12 reports (see below - Important ARFF Documents) referenced in the coalition letter, as empirical evidence. The AAAE lobbyists and coalition have succeeded at stopping the FAA adoption of NFPA standards to U.S. certificated airport ARFF response requirements currently identified in 14CFR Part 139. Because of the information provided to the Senate by the coalition, Congress has determined it is not necessary to meet International ICAO standards or adopt national consensus standards (NFPA 403). legislation here (Senate)
