Coalition Letter in Opposition to ARFF Standards

H.R. 658 has been approved by the House and the Senate and is now awaiting a signature from the President.

Congress has accepted the subjective misinformation skewed in the ACRP 7 & ACRP 12 reports (see below - Important ARFF Documents) referenced in the coalition letter, as empirical evidence.

The AAAE lobbyists and coalition have succeeded at stopping the FAA adoption of NFPA standards to U.S. certificated airport ARFF response requirements currently identified in 14CFR Part 139. Because of the information provided to the Senate by the coalition, Congress has determined it is not necessary to meet International ICAO standards or adopt national consensus standards (NFPA 403).

Aviation Section/ARFF Technical Committee News

The NFPA ARFF Technical Committee met in Newport Beach CA 1/31/2012 through 2/2/2012 to revise the NFPA 403 and NFPA 412 standards.

The new 2012 edition of NFPA 414 was approved at the 2011 Boston conference.

The NFPA Aviation Section Board of Directors held a teleconference on 7-20-2011.
